Trekking Mai Chau - 4 Days

Mai Chau is a mountainous area in northern Vietnam with spellbinding view of its rustic countryside, inhabited by Thai and H’mong ethnic minority groups. This trekking adventure offers an exciting cultural exploration.

Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau – Hang Kia Village (B/L/D) 

8AM - depart Hanoi for Mai Chau, the beautiful gateway to the mountainous area of northern Vietnam. THe journey will include a rest stop for refreshments and to visit the Hoa Binh hydro power station.

12PM - arrive at Xa Linh Village for lunch in a H’mong house before setting off on a pleasant trek in the afternoon. 

2PM - arrive by foot at Tra Day Village, home to a small community of Black H’mong minority people. 

5PM - arrive at Hang Kia, another H'mong village, where we will have a herbal foot massage stay overnight in a homestay.  


Day 2: Trek from Hang Kia to Van Village (B/L/D)

8AM - Depart Hang Kia after breakfast and trek through Vietnam's jungle, scenic rocky passes and rice fields with rest stops at locations excellent for landscape photography. 

12PM - arrive at a village of the White Thai minority group after crossing a river, where we have lunch in a local house. 

2PM - depart for Van Village, a beautiful village of White Thai minority people where we will be staying the night on traditional bamboo floors. You could choose to have some homemade whiskey after your shower as pre-dinner drinks. A foot massage will precede a restful night at a homestay.

Day 3: Trek from Van Village to Buoc Village (B/L/D) 

8AM - depart for Buoc Village, trekking through bamboo forests, rice terraces and farmland. 

12PM - arrive at Buoc Village, which belongs to the White Thai minority people. A leisurely lunch and tour of the surrounding area will follow a dip in a nearby stream. Dinner and a foot massage will be followed by bedtime.

Day 4: Trek to Van Mai – Transfer to Hanoi (B/L)

8AM - depart Buoc Village for a relatively short trek through mountain passes.

11AM - arrive at Van Mai, where we will meet our car and driver for a short transfer to Pom Coong Village for lunch. 

1PM - depart for Hanoi and arrive back in civilization at about 5pm, where the tour concludes.
